Adrian J. Martinez, MD adrian@givingmore.org

Dr. Martinez grew up and attended high school in San Antonio, Texas. His adult education started at Georgetown University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Government with a concentration in International Relations while also doing his Pre-Med coursework, and continued in Galveston at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where he received his Medical Degree. After medical school he moved to New York City to complete his residency at St Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Adrian has been on charity medical missions to Mexico, Nicaragua, and Haiti, and continues to travel extensively. Currently he works in the Emergency Department as an attending physician at the University Medical Center at Brackenridge in Austin, Texas.
Alberto Hazan, MD alberto@givingmore.org

After graduating from Harvard University, Alberto Hazan attended Stony Brook Medical School. He trained in emergency medicine at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, where he was chief resident. Since then, he has worked in clinics and hospitals all over the world, including Morocco, Nepal, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Haiti. As a former Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner, Dr. Hazan continues to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault in both New York and Las Vegas, where he currently practices emergency medicine. He is the author of the young adult urban fantasy series "The League of Freaks" and the medical thriller "Dr. Vigilante."

Dr. Speight graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine, following an undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Speight currently works as an attending physician at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He has medical volunteer experience in both Haiti and Guatemala.

Darrel graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. He worked at the University Medical Center Emergency Department for just under a decade. He then earned a Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is currently practicing as a nurse practitioner in the Emergency Department at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas. He resides in Allen, TX, where and his lovely wife Kimberly are raising their two children, Camille age 9 and Myles age 2. He enjoys volunteering his time at his daughter’s elementary school and playing tennis. He is looking forward to any opportunity to offer his kindness, knowledge and healing touch to those in need.

Eric is a graduate of the Florida State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He then joined Tartufo Films as an editor and creative consultant. Then he received his Master of Arts in Communications from Incarnate Word University. He has served as a volunteer on medical mission trips and worked to promote human rights since high school.

Kimi has been an ER nurse since 1998. She attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Lubbock, TX, where she obtained her RN. She also graduated from Texas Tech University where she earned a degree in Public Health. For the past 17 years, Kimi has worked in an inner city emergency room where she is passionate about educating her patient population in regards to making their health and compliance a priority in their lives. She volunteers her time as a Texas Master Naturalist, educating the public about nature in hopes that the earth will become cleaner and safer for all who live here. She currently resides in Allen, TX, with her husband Darrel and their two children, Camille and Myles.

Lisa is originally from the Dallas, TX area. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the Baylor School of Nursing, and currently practices in the Pediatric Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. She has volunteer medical experience in many countries around the world including Mexico, India, Guatemala, and West Africa. She has a strong passion for supporting women's and children's health.

Omar is a graduate of George Washington University School of Business, where he obtained his Master's in Business Administration with a focus on Healthcare. Omar obtained his Doctorate in Pharmacy from Texas Tech School of Pharmacy and then completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with a focus in Infectious Disease at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He currently lives and works in Austin, Texas. Omar follows the simple philosophy: learn to live.

Dr. Martinez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He is a graduate of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and remained at UT Southwestern to complete his residency in Emergency Medicine at Parkland Hospital. He currently is an attending physician and medical director of the Emergency Department for Lucent Healthcare Solutions. He has worked at both large, urban trauma centers and rural hospitals including Baylor University Medical Center and Valley Regional Medical Center where he served as medical director. During his tenure, he was awarded the Thomas Frist Humanitarian Award, given to individuals who serve their community and whose daily dedication and care giving epitomize the highest standards of quality and personal commitment. Before his medical career, Dr. Martinez received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Georgetown University and worked as a business consultant in San Francisco, California. In 2011, he founded the non-profit GivingMore.org to provide free medical care and education to rural villages in southwest Nicaragua. He has also served on medical trips to Costa Rica and Haiti.

Ricardo is the co-founder and Managing Director for Latin America of Agora Partnerships, a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to fighting poverty. He is a fellow of the inaugural class of the Central American Leadership Initiative (CALI) of the Aspen Institute and was a member of the 2010 Class of the Yale World Fellows Program. In March 2011, the World Economic Forum named him to its Young Global Leaders network. He has been invited to speak to young people around the world about utilizing the power of business to change the world. He holds an undergraduate business degree in Marketing and Economics, and Masters of Science in Foreign Service, both from Georgetown University. As an entrepreneur he started and worked with several companies and non-profit organizations, including an Internet satellite company, a women’s clothing franchise, and an alternative media company. Ricardo lives in Managua, Nicaragua, with his wife, Isolda, and two kids, Ricardo Antonio and Catalina.
